in todays world, with the media realizing it can use psychotherapy as a

way to advertise their products, we, as a people need to forget what we

think we know about the workings of the world, and re-evaluate. Long

has it been since a person could drive down the street without being

molested, visually, by ads and product placement. I live in the deep,

deep boonies of north Dartmouth, where not much advertising gets

accomplished, so I would like to think that i am looking at this as a

person who has escaped the proverbial box of illusion. in this box, i see

people doing ridiculous things to appear to be on top of the social

pyramid. this first occurred to me in the form of music. when i made the

change from listening to mainstream rock to what people now would

call "classic," i found that todays music has slowly been degenerating.

we don't notice because we are in the "frog in a pot of water

phenomenon." (if you throw a frog into a pot of boiling water, it will

jump out, but if you put it in a pot of warm water and slowly boil it, the

frog will stay until it dies of heat.) i will grant that some instrumentals

must be toned down to get a message across, but i have witnessed

whole CD's filled with nothing but crappy instrumentals and messages

that appear to be deep, but are truly something a third grader could

discover after an hour of self-reflection. many say that we have reached

the zenith, or peak, of our culture, that it can only go downhill from

here. i think that we reached our peak somewhere in the mid-ninety's.

we have been falling for more than 50 years, and people are just now

thinking "hey, we're just now getting to the top." wake up. spend a week

alone. no phone, no TV. Just you and some food. think about what you

do for your life. (im going to caps the important message, so it isnt

missed. if you need something clarified here, ill use bigger text in teh

message.) you have to realize that PEOPLE ARE GOING TO LIE TO YOU

TO GET WHAT THEY WANT. THEY DONT CARE. almost everything the

government tells you IS A LIE. THEY DONT CARE. the people who stray

from mainstream culture ARE NOT CRAZY. they have opened the lid to

the box of illusion. the just need to step out. IT IS OKAY TO SAY NO TO

PARIS HILTON, HANNAH MONTANA, THE JONAS BROTHERS,

HELLOGOODBYE, BRITNEY SPEARS, ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY, ALLURE,

COSMO, GLAMOUR, HOT TOPIC, PAC-SUN, AS I LAY DYING, FACEBOOK,

MYSPACE, ECT.


just clarifying, i am not yelling, i am making sure you get the point. so to

covering what i said:

forget what you think you know about the world

the media lies

the government lies

the frog in a pot phenomenon

people in general lie

box of illusion

escape your illusion.
